Trees have always felt like old friends — rooted, patient, and endlessly expressive. What began as admiration has become a quiet obsession: an urge to paint the whisper of forests, the reach of roots, and the spaces between branches. All works in this series are created in oil, on either canvas panels or canvas mounted to cradled wood panels — layers of paint and texture echoing the layered lives of the trees themselves. Each tree carries a woman’s name, a quiet acknowledgment of the feminine strength I see in them — givers of shelter, sustenance, and a certain kind of wisdom that only comes with standing still for a very long time.
